Description
The City of Lethbridge has provided fire and emergency services an integrated system since 1912. The service is one of the few integrated services in Canada and offers a unique and challenging career for people looking to experience the best of the fire and EMS profession.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimally, candidates must be registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics as primary care paramedic (PCP) however candidates registered as an advanced care paramedic (ACP) are given preference. Candidates must possess a class 2 or 3+4 driver’s license with airbrake (Q endorsement) before they begin recruit training. Our selection process includes fitness testing, written aptitude and medical knowledge tests, medical scenario testing, a behavioral descriptive job interview and psychological evaluation. Prior to being offered employment, candidates must pass a comprehensive medical. Firefighting training to the NFPA 1001 standard, firefighting experience and experience in an EMS system are an asset.
