As a member of the Canadian Natural Fire Department, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our oil sands sites through emergency response, community education, and ongoing training.   • Job location: Horizon or Albian Oil Sands - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, 12-hour shifts (rotating days/nights)
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Deliver high-quality BLS/ALS medical response in accordance with established protocols
  • Ensure effective emergency response by applying professional skills, sound judgment, and appropriate techniques at all emergency scenes
  • Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and general readiness of fire apparatus and related emergency response equipment
  • Conduct fire code inspections of site facilities and participate in site pre-fire planning activities
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and contribute to the training and development of emergency response members

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Must have prior experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and be in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics with active registration
  • Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification (Pro-board or IFSAC accreditation)
  • Must have NFPA 472 Hazmat Awareness & Operations (Pro-board or IFSAC accreditation)
  • Valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Air brakes (Q) endorsement driver’s license or another provincial equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum standard of physical fitness is required

Minimum Qualifications

What You Bring to the Role:
