Esquimalt Fire Rescue Services (EFRS) is currently creating an eligibility pool for future firefighter vacancies.
We are leaders in health and wellness who are looking to create a diverse pool of applicants to join our growing team. We are looking for suitably qualified and dynamic people - our ideal candidates will be committed community members who demonstrate a lifestyle that is active and healthy and who display a passion for health and wellness, both physically and mentally.
Minimum Qualifications
• Legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Be at least 19 years of age;
• Grade 12 Certificate or GED equivalency;
• Class 3 driver’s licence and air brake endorsement;
• Safe driving record as demonstrated in a current driver’s abstract;
• Equivalent to First Responder 3 or Occupational First Aid Level 3;
• Computer literacy;
• Proven ability to work in a team environment;
• History of ongoing volunteer and community service experience;
• Physically fit for the position of firefighter and medically fit according to the standards set in NFPA 1582; and,
• Completion of an accredited (IFSAC or ProBoard) NFPA 1001 Firefighter 1 & 2 program.
Preferred Qualifications
• Post secondary education
• Trades qualification
• Experience or education in health and wellness

• Class 3 driver’s licence with air endorsement; and,
