Description

The City of Thompson's Fire Department is seeking those unique individuals with a passion for Firefighting, Paramedicine or Emergency Medical Responder. Our department provides fire protection and EMS services to Manitoba's fourth largest City. Responding swiftly to medical emergencies, care, safety, support, and transition of people in a secure, short term stabilization unit and other related duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To perform fire suppression and prevention
  • Respond to alarms
  •  Participation in fire inspection
  •  Public education and life safety programs
  •  Rescue and extrication operations
  •  Communicate effectively respectfully and inclusively at all times.
  •  other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalency
  • Firefighters Level 2 ( NPFA 1001)
  • Valid standard First aid/CPR certification
  • Post secondary training or relevant experience in a related field is an asset.
  • Valid Class III/IV MB driver's license.
  • Diploma certificate in PCP or EMR is an asset (for Fire PCP/EMR )
  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Paramedics is required for Fire/PCP role only.
  • Excellent physical health, mentally able to fulfil the Firefighters, Fire/EMR and Fire/ PCP duties.
