Description

The City of Regina is seeking dedicated individuals passionate about public service to join as Fire Fighters. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the community while working in a dynamic and rewarding environment. As a Fire Fighter, you will be part of a team committed to safety, emergency response, and community well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response: Respond to fire alarms, emergency calls, and rescue operations.
  • Fire Suppression: Operate firefighting equipment and employ techniques to control and extinguish fires.
  • Rescue Operations: Perform search and rescue for individuals from hazardous situations.
  • Medical Assistance: Provide first aid and emergency medical care as required.
  • Fire Prevention: Participate in fire prevention and public education programs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and maintain firefighting equipment and apparatus.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cohesively with other fire department personnel and emergency service providers.
  • Training: Attend and participate in ongoing training and drills.
  • Other Duties: Complete reports, maintain records, and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Must pass the written exam based on the 7th Edition IFSTA Textbook.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to successfully complete physical testing.
  • Interview Process: Must participate in multiple rounds of interviews.
  • Other Requirements: Must meet all departmental requirements for employment as a Fire Fighter.

Assessment Schedule Timeline:

  • Posting: January 8 – February 8, 2026
  • Written Exam: February 14, 2026
  • 1st Round Interviews: February 25 – March 5, 2026
  • Physical Testing: March 18-22, 2026
  • 2nd Round Interviews: April 2-14, 2026
  • 3rd Round Interviews: April 20-21, 2026
  • Employment (Orientation) Start Date: June 1, 2026
