Look at the Town of High Level Work Experience Firefighter Program.

The Town of High Level requires multiple responsible & motivated individuals for the position of Firefighter Work Experience Program, commencing April 15, 2025.
This position is a 12 month term position, 96hr Core Flex Shift (4 on 4 off 12hr shift) starting April 15, 2025 and ending April 15, 2026, 4 on 4 off 96hr Core Flex Shift.

A provided wage, in the range $ 19.77 to $ 27.05 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications, will be offered to the successful candidate.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Shift Officer, the Seasonal Firefighter as part of the Emergency Services Department, is generally responsible for the response to High Level Fire Department emergency calls, Fire Department support and equipment readiness.

 

The Employee may be required on an ongoing basis to attend applicable training, workshops, seminars, and courses at the discretion of the Employer in order to facilitate job knowledge and performance.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a 2 week training program upon commencement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Diploma.
  • Standard First Aid/Level C CPR.
  • NFPA 1001 Level
  • Must pass the High Level Fire Department Physical Assessment Test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Wildland Firefighting training (NFPA 1051 or Type 1 Wildfire Crew Member).
  • NFPA 472/1072 Operations.
  • NFPA 1002 Pump Operator.
  • Emergency Medical Training (FMR/EMR or higher).
  • ICS 200.
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
