Description

The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is located north of the GTA, at the southwest border of Simcoe County and offers rural living with proximity to urban amenities. ATFD responds from two stations in Everett and Loretto. Collectively, these stations provide service to over 11,000 residents across 372 square kilometers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Volunteers are compensated for attending training, emergencies, and station duties.

Volunteer/Paid On-Call Firefighters are responsible for a variety of duties, but not limited to:

  • Responding to calls for rescue and fire emergencies which may include working within hazardous environments when fighting fires, taking part in rescue scenarios, and administering medical aid
  • Participating in regular training and maintenance work of fire station and equipment
  • Participating in public education opportunities and supporting local community events

Minimum Qualifications

18 years of age or older

Valid G Ontario Drivers Licence

Reside within 8KMs of a fire station

NFPA 1001 and 1072

Additional Information

If you have NFPA 1001 Level 1 & 2 certification and need the experience and additional training to pursue your career aspirations in fire services, consider joining the ATFD team!

Experienced firefighters &/or NFPA certified applicants may be considered for a condensed probationary period, and wage progression.
