Description

Beiseker Fire Department is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to fill the role of Fire Captain.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Deputy Chief, the Captain oversees firefighters in routine station duties, acts as the company officer at emergency scenes, and acts as the incident commander in the absence of a chief officer. Other duties may include basic administration of volunteer firefighters, conducting shift training, community engagement, public education and pre-planning.

Minimum Qualifications

NFPA 1001 lvl 2

CPR Lvl C

Must be willing to attend NFPA 1021, 1041 and other training as directed.

NFPA 1021 Officer 1 and NFPA 1041 Instructor 1 certification will be provided to suitable candidates during training dates from Sept- Dec 2024.

Preferred Qualifications

Consideration will be given to a combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Beiseker Fire Department operations, NFPA 1521, 1002, or 1041 is an asset.

Additional Information

Please note this is an unpaid position consisting of at least two 24 hour (6pm-6pm) shifts per month at the fire hall. Residence in Beiseker is not required.
