Description
The City of St. Albert is looking for dedicated individuals to join their Fire and Emergency Medical Services department as Firefighter / Medics. These positions will report to a Platoon Chief and are essential for responding to medical emergencies and fire suppression operations. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Respond to emergencies as part of a team, protecting life and mitigating property loss.
- Perform fire suppression and rescue activities in a wide range of potentially dangerous situations.
- Provide medical care to individuals in need in St. Albert and surrounding communities.
- Maintain professionalism and a state of constant readiness.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics as a Primary Care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic.
- Successful completion of the University of Alberta Firefighter Fitness Test. Successful tests after June 15, 2026 will be accepted.
- A valid Class 4 driver’s license.
- Completion of an NFPA 1001 Level 1 and Level 2 course is a preference.

- Salary: $93,392.32 per annum ($3,592.01 bi-weekly), including a comprehensive benefits package and Pension Plan.
- Hours of Work: Two 10-hour Day shifts and two 14-hour Night shifts followed by 4 days of rest.
- Location: 100 Giroux Road, St. Albert.
