The Firefighter Cadet, Casual position is designed for youth interested in developing their skills in firefighting and emergency response. Lac La Biche County was formed in August of 2007, when the Town of Lac La Biche and Lakeland County amalgamated, resulting in a diverse mixture of urban and rural areas. Duties and Responsibilities
- Training in core areas of firefighting including First Aid and CPR, communications, general fire and rescue operations, and fire safety and prevention
- Attending at minimum 25 training events a year
Minimum Qualifications
- Related training and experience with demonstrated passion to continue to develop in the firefighting field
- Be between 15 and 18 years of age
- Be enrolled in high school within the Lac La Biche County
- Have good conflict resolution skills
- Be well-developed in public relations skills
Additional Information
- Salary starts at $18.35 (hourly) and increases when candidate successfully becomes a Firefighter
- Casual position
- Hours: On call for days, evenings and weekends - no guaranteed hours per week
- Competition Number: 45-FFC-23
- Closing Date: Open until enough suitable candidates are found to run training class, or 31 Dec 2026
