Description
The District of Taylor is seeking a Firefighter Apprentice for an 8-week Canada Summer Job position within the Protective Services department. This position will provide the candidate with opportunities to learn and perform various maintenance and firefighter skills, with a focus on educating and exposing the incumbent to the diverse aspects of the firefighter trade. The role is part of the Youth Employment and Skills strategy, aimed at helping young Canadians gain valuable work experience and develop essential skills for their future careers.

- Learn and perform various firefighter maintenance skills.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the fire department.
- Engage in training sessions to improve firefighting knowledge and techniques.
- Participate in physical training to meet the demands of the job.
Minimum Qualifications

- Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to work various durations including bending and standing.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the firefighting environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possession of a First Responder (British Columbia) license with CPR certification.

- Pay rate: $18.95 per hour.
