Do you want to be a part of a fully integrated emergency response team at our Fort Hills site? You will use your emergency response expertise to carry out a dynamic array of emergency duties on a highly motivated team to protect our assets and the environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Respond to all emergency incidents on our site, including downgrading events, medical distress, and fire and gas alarms
  • Provide world-class medical care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Perform and lead daily equipment inspections
  • Show dedication and initiative in daily and weekly safety meetings
  • Strive to continuously develop and improve emergency response procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an emergency response role
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 and NFPA 472 Firefighter certifications
  • Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) certification from the Alberta College of Paramedics and applicants with Registered Nurse certification in Alberta or Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) certification will be considered
  • Certification and/or experience in one of the following areas is preferred: NFPA 472 Dangerous Goods, NFPA 1002 Fire Department Vehicle Driver/Operator, NFPA 1006 Rescue Technician
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record – a valid class three and four driver's license with Q (air brakes) is preferred

Additional Information

  • This position is located at our Fort Hills Location 90kms north of Fort McMurray
  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is a seven days on / seven days off rotation
  • You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds, towers and within confined spaces
  • •You will be required to successfully complete an annual fitness evaluation
