We are presently staffing for Full-time Advanced Care Paramedic/Emergency Response Team Leads to work at our industrial client site in Redwater, AB. The role will involve providing both fire rescue and medical emergency response at an industrial plant. Previous leadership experience is required.
This role will involve alternating between day and night shifts with rotating weekend coverage; shifts are 12 hours in length. Candidates must be local to the Edmonton area OR willing to provide their own transport and accommodations while on shift.
Duties and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Site-based supervisor position.
- Directs and supervises the emergency and non-emergency activities of their assigned Emergency Response Team.
- Develops site-specific emergency response plans and procedures to ensure a coordinated and effective response to all emergencies across the Pembina Redwater site.
- Ensures the inspection, testing, maintenance, and inventory of fire protection and life safety equipment and systems, along with all client assets under the stewardship of Intl.SOS.
- Maintains a strict account of all site emergency materials, apparatus, and consumables used during daily work activities.
- Completes the Daily Activity Log and submits to the Pembina Emergency Response Specialist.
- Participates in meetings as assigned by the Pembina Emergency Response Specialist.
- Works cooperatively and synergistically with site operations in work planning for tasks such as hot work, confined space entry, working at heights, and all other hazardous activities that may pose a risk to the health and safety of site personnel.
- Develops and delivers comprehensive training programs for ERT members and site Auxiliary Fire Teams.
- Reports administratively to the International SOS Project Operations Director assigned to the Pembina Redwater Project.
- Reports functionally to the Pembina Emergency Response Specialist.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced Care Paramedic License (Alberta)
- ITLS
- ACLS
- NFPA 1001 Level II
- NFPA 472 or 1072 Hazmat Operations Level
- NFPA 1002 Driver/Operator
- NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Technician
- NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor
- Relevant experience in a leadership role
- Detection and Control of Flammable Substances (or equivalent)
- High Vapour Pressure product firefighting and control experience, including ethane, propane, butane, and ethylene experience
- Experience in hydrocarbon firefighting
- Class 3/4 driver's license with Q endorsement (or higher)
